(Vanceburg, KY) The Lewis County Primary Care Center which is now operating under the name PrimaryPlus is proud to announce the availability of applications for the annual PrimaryPlus scholarship. PrimaryPlus will provide three $500 non-renewable scholarships to a 2007 graduate residing and attending a Lewis County, Fleming County, or Mason County school. The scholarship applications are available at the guidance counselors’ office at each of the local high schools, as well as online at www.primaryplus.net (under “Our Services—Community Programs).
Applicants will be required to submit a brief biography, transcripts of their high school grades/test scores, financial need information and provide letters of recommendation. Seniors’ applying must also submit a 500 to 1,000 word essay outlining their professional goals in the medical field and the future contributions they would like to make in the community and how this scholarship would help them attain those goals. Scholarship finalists may be interviewed by the selection committee and the recipient will be announced before the end of the school year. The deadline for application submission is April 18, 2007. PrimaryPlus began offering the scholarship program 4 years ago in Vanceburg and followed suit with similar funding in both Fleming and Mason counties in hopes that students from these counties, with an interest in healthcare will be able to pursue that interest and return home to provide top quality healthcare services.
“The class of 2007 is a vital part of our community’s future and it is important to help them pursue their dreams, in hopes that they will return home to begin their careers. PrimaryPlus feels that the scholarship will not only assist with the financial burden of college, but also help them to think about how they too can give back to their community,” states Jerry Ugrin, CEO of PrimaryPlus.
PrimaryPlus features family health, pharmacy, women’s health, dental, and rehab/fitness in addition to several other collaboratives. PrimaryPlus is dedicated to providing advanced, affordable medical services to the entire family. In the winter of 2006, all entitles of the Lewis County Primary Care Center made the decision to simplify their name to PrimaryPlus to help better market the growing company. PrimaryPlus has office locations in Vanceburg, Tollesboro, Flemingsburg, and Maysville. For more information about PrimaryPlus call 606-796-3029 or visit www.primaryplus.net
