(October 13, 2006) Maysville OB/GYN/Family Health Center has been a
strong medical figure in Mason and surrounding counties. With new
services, new physicians, and the development plans for a new facility,
the organization which is an entity of the Lewis County Primary Care
Center (headquarted in Vanceburg, KY) decided to celebrate the recent
growth with an open house celebration on Tuesday, October 10. The
event welcomed over 100 citizens and business associates through the
door to capture a better understanding of Maysville OB/GYN/Family Health
Center and its recent additions.
The event began with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the help of the
Maysville-Mason County Area Chamber of Commerce. New physicians,
long-time employees, and community partners joined in on the celebration
as the medical facility welcomed the addition of new family health services
at 991 Medical Park Drive Suite 6, just across from their OB/GYN office
located in Meadowview Regional Medical Center’s Suite 309.
Guests were then treated to tours of the new temporary family health
office space, as well as, health screenings, refreshments, and door prizes. Attendee’s
were also offered the opportunity to get a sneak peak of the sketches
for the new facility.
“We wanted our open house celebration to allow the area to better
understand our organization—getting to know our three new family
care physicians and two new OB/GYN physicians, witnessing our services,
recognizing that currently we are located within two separate facilities,
plus experience first hand the advanced, affordable side of healthcare,” stated
Tracy McGuire, Marketing Director for Lewis County Primary Care Center
(LCPCC).
On October 5, 2006, Maysville OB/GYN/Family Health Center received $4
million in funding from the USDA to begin construction of a new 35,000
square ft. facility which will house the OB/GYN, family health services,
and the addition of a 340 B pharmacy program offering reduced pharmaceutical
cost to patients of the organization. Hopes are high to complete
the new building in late fall to early winter of 2007. The facility
will include OB/GYN medical providers Dr. Donald Wilson, Dr. Laura Shower,
Dr. David Doty, Dr. Stephen Meese, Dr. Susan Hagan, Dr. Ken Payne, and
nurse practitioner Melissa Redmond, plus family practice physicians Dr.
Nathan Elliott, Dr. Viviana Goldenberg, and Dr. Jessica Bocook—all
of which are currently accepting new patients.
