THE POWER OF PINK LUNCHEON SALUTES NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

{Vanceburg, KY} – October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  According to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Organization, each year nearly 178,000 women and 2,000 men are diagnosed with breast cancer.   However, since the awareness month began in 1985, mammography rates have more than doubled for women age 50 and older and breast cancer deaths have declined.  This is positive progress, but there are still women who do not take advantage of early detection at all and others who do not get regular screening mammograms and clinical breast exams.

PrimaryPlus and the Lewis County Extension Office are excited to host the “The Power of Pink Luncheon” to help encourage and create awareness about the importance of breast health.  The luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, October 30th from 12:00-1:00 at the Lewis County Extension Office.  Everyone is welcome to attend and the event is completely free!  The event is set to include FREE Lunch, doorprizes, informational brochures, and will feature Dr. Gina D’Costa from PrimaryPlus.  Join us as we celebrate the power of pink and the spirit of good health!!!

For more information about The Power of Pink Luncheon contact Tracy McGuire at PrimaryPlus at 606-796-0183 or Sally Mineer at the Lewis County Extension Office at 606-796-2732.
